This video showcases the NJ Healthy Corner Store Initiative, a partnership of The Food Trust, New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids and the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
The New Jersey Corner Store Initiative is working to provide families with more healthy choices by partnering with small retailers to help them profitable stock, promote and sell affordable, fresh food to their customers. In just three years, this small, localized public health and economic development initiative is yielding impressive results in Camden, Newark, New Brunswick, Trenton and Vineland. It is expanding into other communities each day. Not only is it increasing healthy food options, jobs are being created in some areas and tax revenue is on the rise. It’s important that NJ pass legislation that will continue to support this important program in the Garden State.
